Still Life Drawing
The theme of my still life was food. We used a lunch box, water bottle, grapes, banana, pear, and a kiwi. The point of emphasis in my drawing is the water bottle. I made sure to really show the highlights in all the fruit and water bottle. I showed movement in the table cloth using shading behind all the folds of the fabric. I used a dark shading around the entire drawing that fades out, to make the main picture stand out from a blank background. I think the most successful parts of my drawing are my water bottle and the lunch box. Both of these items seem to stand out the most and draw the most attention. I also feel like my highlights and shading really made the drawing seem less flat. I think the parts of my drawing that need the most work is that my darkest shading isn't as dark as it really should be.

Final Facial Feature (Eye)
For my final facial feature drawing, I drew the eye. To make the eye look more three-dimensional, I made sure to use a range of shadowing and highlighting. For example, under the eye I added a lot of shading to show the darker parts and roundness under the eye. On the eye itself I added white areas to show the highlights in the pupil and the whites of the eye. I think the point of emphasis on the eye is the center of the eye and then, from there, your eye moves up to the eyebrow. If I could change anything about the drawing it would probably be to make my darker parts even darker to try and show more emphasis then what I originally put. I would also try to make the area where my eyes are brown, darker, to look more realistic because they should look like dark eyes. |
